The Call to Action That Reduces Friction in Account Creation

written by Linda Bustos

Such a simple idea, but you may be able to increase the number of successful accounts sign-ups by replacing the teeny-tiny tick box that is commonly presented in sign up forms (you know, the "I have read and understand the Terms of Use") with a button that says "I agree. Create my account."

As with email signup tickboxes, agreement boxes are somewhat easy to overlook. Have you ever jumped to a "Create Account" button only to get an error message that you haven't ticked the agreement box?

The button text is more likely to be read, and saves the user a click or error correction.
