Bio: As Chief Technology Officer at Elastic Path, Michael Vax is responsible for developing and implementing Elastic Path’s strategic vision. With over 20 years of experience in software, Michael's career has spanned the full range of software positions including developer, architect, development manager, VP Development and CTO. Prior to joining Elastic Path, Michael worked as the CEO of Luxoft-Canada, a global software development company. Michael graduated with an MS Degree in Optical-Electronics from the Moscow Institute of Radio Engineering, Electronics and Automation. A certified SCRUM Master and member of the Agile Alliance, he frequently speaks at industry conferences and writes about distributed Agile and functional test-driven development. Michael is also a member of the Agile Vancouver council and actively promotes Agile software development in Canada. When Michael is not planning technological breakthroughs, he enjoys biking, walking, reading history books, and travelling to historical places around the world.
