This is an impressive roundup of profile Avatars! LOL - when I saw the incoming link (thanks!) I was worried you found my mug shot that I use for digg/stumbleupon and others. Relief set in when I saw the laurel wreath instead. :)

Submitted this to Sphinn and Digg. Also stumbled. This is a great post because we recognize so many of those people as our friends on various sites. It makes me smile. :-)

    Hey! It’s me!

Only I’m either gonna have to get a haircut or a new avatar: no one recognized me w/ my hair up last week!

great post(s) Lisa, thanks for the mention! surprising how many people don’t put much thought into their avatars even with all the focus on social networking these days.

Well, I guess I’ll have to spruce up my avatar. Thanks for the hint!

This is sweet, reminds me of those, Web2.0 logo roundup posts, except better. There are certainly some really creative and out there ones, my favorites are usually ones from people I know. One that I have always liked, that you listed, is Shoemoney’s. For some reason I have always liked that logo.

Wow! Thanks for including me on the list. The avatar I picked is basically how I see myself. :^)

    Aloha,
    Dave.

Hey thanks for the props. I spent millions on research before I unleashed my self-branded avatar on the world. I am glad it is making such an undeniably huge impact on the world. Money well spent!

  11. Thanks! i’m really honored to be on the list! my avatar is what i think about the Interweb: throw in the garbage your TV! Be smarter :)

  12. May 16th, 2008

Very cool! Thanks for the mention! I couldn’t resist using that avatar, I have a love for obscure references. While it doesn’t necessarily relate to or brand my company, it is a fun reference to one of my favorite tv shows. :-)

Matthew, where did you find that image? That is my favorite Simpson’s episode :) I actually taped over the tape of my brother’s guitar company being featured on television with that episode. It was his one copy. I felt really terrible.

Okay, this is simply weird. and now I am wondering where on earth you encountered me/my virtual representation of myself =P. I don’t know whether to be scared or happy about this :D. But hey, thanks, I guess ^^.

You guys gotta stick with these kinds of articles (and the 107 add to cart buttons). It’s such a visual buffet.

What about people who run multiple sites? Wondering if I can squeeze 3 domain names into 80×80 pixels. :)

  19. July 22nd, 2008

My Twitter avatar is boring compared to the above ones. I will say, I am more apt to read tweets from interesting avatars. Maybe I should change mine! lol
