Is the broken HTML on the “Oopsy hall of fame” link a clever joke or beautiful irony?

As the link is malformed too I’m thinking the latter :D

  2. Thank you for the mention, Linda! I actually thought of you (b/c you often blog about such topics) when I was putting that “3 E-tailer Mistakes” blog post up.

    Linda,

I believe you made an error: “Well, the big news of the month was the Wall Street Journal’s exposé on JC Penney’s paid link activities.”

While the WSJ did mention the JCPenney story done by the New York Times, I believe you meant the expose by the NYTimes!

Not sure at all why Facebook are returning to iframes.. fair play to them for making it secure though!

  6. I think JC Penny and Overstock are the biggest news this month. I’m impressed with Google taking action against the “big guns”. Good for them.

    • I’m not surprise Ostock got busted. I found them on the same link farmed page that JC Penney was linked from, along with another IR500 retailer (in the IR500 Search Marketing guide, the 3 were all in the top 5 retailers in terms of SEO saturation and performance).

The JC Penny news was big news. I am over in Singapore and I heard about it. I’m curious if the JC Penny guy knew what he was doing was illegal in Google World or if he was unaware. Anyway, interesting stuff.
