Canada Post have a flat fee $10 service but that's only for e-bay sales which I am not interested in. Any Canadian ecommerce retailers been able to negotiate a flat fee service? Any help/pointers would be greatly appreciated.

I’m finding it a struggle to find Canadian shipping companies who offer a flat fee small parcel service. A review of some top 50 apparel, footwear and accessories sites in the U.S. reveals that only a few have dedicated Canadian sites. Even these dedicated sites are not fully optimized to serve Canadian shoppers. For example, Lands’ End displays prices in U.S. dollars. Zappos charges $10 flat shipping across Canada, whereas ALDO only charges $5. To be seriously considered as an online shopping destination for Canadians, U.S. retailers need to work harder on certain key areas. Find out what aren't U.S. e-tailers doing better in Canada here.

I am the Marketing Coordinator for Bongo International. http://www.bongous.com. We are a mail and parcel forwarder and I believe that with the large interest in online shopping, a forwarding solution is the future of international shipping. Like some of the other services mentioned above, BongoUS services both online retailers, and international customers with valuable services.
Also Audio Bible, it is great that you are interested in expanding further, however I would suggest you consider using a parcel forwarder because the countries serviced will be over 100. For instance at Bongo, we service 220 countries worldwide.

Great post and analysis. We have been selling to Canada and other international countries for quite a while, but have recently discovered MyUs.com, which is a forwarding service for shipping internationally. Not so much helpful for Canada shipments, but mainly overseas.

We are a U.S. based e-commerce business that sells residential and commercial playground equipment. Once you get the shipping process setup, shipping to Canada is the same as shipping to any other place. I ship to 68 countries right now. An international order is as good as an order in the good old USA.
Expand your business and ship globally!!!

I ship to Canada all the time.
