Did a little digging online and found an article on the Consumerist about Classic Closeouts' fraudulent credit card charges to past customers. Wow.
Despite their shady dealings, they really communicated their value proposition well. If I had known the future I would not have blogged about them but I will leave the article up as an example for conversion optimization.

Hi Tori,

Did a little digging online and found an article on the Consumerist about Classic Closeouts’ fraudulent credit card charges to past customers. Their marketing worked so they could get credit card numbers to defraud people months and years after buying items from them.

Funny that this website was analyzed because these shysters were shut down by the FCC for FRAUD! But... if you ONLY put the PayPal logo on your page (and not Visa or Mastercard) visitors might get a negative impression, i.e. "What a Mickey Mouse outfit, they only accept PayPal?" So I'd keep the MC and Visa logos too.
Probably different if your company is very well known. But for smaller retailers, I think Visa and MC logos can be helpful.

Some people prefer PayPal over Visa or Mastercard, and most retailers don’t accept it. On my site I have the 'Tuesday's 1 day special (changes daily)'
Wording abd the day changes based on which day of the week it is.
What is the best wording to get people to click on the items?
Any testing done on this?

I was courious about the ‘Deals of the Day’ words for 1 day sale items….

On my site I have the ‘Tuesday’s 1 day special (changes daily)’

Wording abd the day changes based on which day of the week it is.

What is the best wording to get people to click on the items?

Any testing done on this?
