Potentially, a good design can increase the average order value of websites (or decrease it J ). Therefore choosing the name of the button, the position and the selection of colors and size may affect the defined KPI of the page displaying it. We analyzed 102 <a href="http://www.pitstopmedia.com/sem/collection-of-continue-shopping-buttons" rel="nofollow">continue shopping buttons</a> from well know websites and we put the collection on our blog. Have a look and leave a comment.

The continue shopping button is an important page element on shopping cart pages. You should speak up to YSBMS with your feature request, they may make it available in a future release?

I agree that’s the best approach.

You should speak up to YSBMS with your feature request, they may make it available in a future release?

By: Jihan

<guid

Unfortunately, my shopping cart (Yahoo! Small Business Merchant Solutions) doesn't allow me to configure my shopping cart in that way. :(

The best approach is one where you give the customer a choice for where to go next: “checkout?”, “back to product page?”, “back to category page?”. Sorry for my late reply. I've never actually thought about adding target="_blank", I'm like Tony I'm a new-tabber so I take it for granted that some people don't surf that way.
It's easy to open links in new tabs - works for IE and Firefox, right click and select new tab.
My reservation for adding target-blank is that many people don't like surprise new windows, or if you use them, it's best to give warning before hand (link opens in new window). I just can't do that for every link. So for that reason we will be keeping links as usual. I hope this isn't too much trouble.
Also these links to the retailers don't go to the pages where the screenshots were from. Actually to be honest, <confession> in this post they're in there to separate the images so they don't look all meshed together </confession>
Thanks for your kind words Eric, hope to see more of you at Get Elastic.

A bad idea, I suppose (In ecommerce). Its another unexpected this that happens to you. Most users know how to right-click and select open in new tab or another mouse gesture. (Whichever current browser.)

@Eric,

A bad idea, I suppose (In ecommerce). Its another unexpected this that happens to you. The only request though is can you set the target="_blank" on your links - it just makes it easier to look at the sites you are discussing without losing the blog post.
Thanks,
