That's amazing about Marks and Spencer, shipping cutoff is probably the reason. Did they have any mention of shopping in store?
Wow, splash pages are so 2001 ;-P
From the retailers I looked at, the sites without ANY mention of Christmas were the 1-800-Contact or CVS Pharmacy type, office / business supplies and tools / plumbing. So I guess it made sense for them.

@ Gata,

That’s amazing about Marks and Spencer, shipping cutoff is probably the reason. What about those e-tailers that do nothing with their homepage as we countdown to Christmas? It's not even good eComm practice, it's just plain common sense. MarksandSpencer.com in the UK actually put up a splash page stating they were no longer taking orders for Xmas themed products and Gift Cards on the 23rd of Dec. Talk about turning business away.

Fab post. What about those e-tailers that do nothing with their homepage as we countdown to Christmas? Then we are selected the christmas gift.

I believe that the December 24th is the busiest shopping day of the Christmas season, as everyone scrambles for last minute gifts, decor and food – at least in local stores. In store pickup is a great value proposition for multi channel retailers and one would expect them to promote this heavily for the last minute shoppers.

It is surprising to see such a low rate for Buy Online pickup in store promotions.
