Good posts. I’ve had bloggers who I’ve submitted to (mostly inexperienced, I think) who after I’ve submitted an article to them and they’ve run it, want me to either run an article of theirs or just post a link back to their site in exchange, which kind of defeats the purpose of guest blogging, I think! If it’s just going to become a link exchange, then we could just do a link exchange and I could save the time in writing the article!

Blogging is about passion. When you are really passionate about what you are writing, then you are going to have good content and invitations to write as guest at other blogs.

I too have thought about guest blogging. Although, guest blogging I believe is something that you build yourself up to. Don’t treat it like it’s the music industry and you want your demo heard. Start with a free WordPress.com blog and get your name out there. Give it a few months, if your content is interesting enough and your alexa and pr are good, people will solicit you.

I’ve been thinking for the past week about guest blogging and wanting to do that for others. Have fun, make good content and general inbound links.

It has some great benefits, but writing a great blog post is really important. The pressure is definitely on when you’re writing for someone else’s blog!
