Record Quarter and International Customers Release

A new press release started it’s journey to the furthest corners of the web world today via PRWeb’s outstanding service (note: PRWeb is based in Ferndale Washington, just across the CDN/USA border, so I invited them to visit). I knew they’d be a good fit when I read that they shut down the office for a staff trip to see “Nacho Libre” and then proceeded to write glowing reviews for Jack Black’s contributions to cinema.

As Paolo Mottola, PRWeb Editor/Comedic Ambassador says:

“I think this movie has the perfect formula. Napoleon Dynamite was a stroke of genius, and Jack Black is one of the finest comedic actors of our time. He should have won an Oscar for “Orange County.’”

All of their hi-jinks sound funnier than the movie did to me - but I digress.

More on PR Web after the break …

The press release talks about Elastic Path’s record sales quarter in which EP closed deals with 19 new customers from a compelling range of industries and diverse locales. As the release says,

“Elastic Path’s recent signings represent a variety of industries and business models including high-end clothing retailer Ted Baker and GPS and electronics manufacturer Garmin, as well as less-traditional ecommerce merchants including Iceland Telecom and the University of Texas at Arlington.

While Elastic Path’s primary market is North America, recent customers are distributed around the world with customers from Germany, Chile and the United Kingdom, along with the aforementioned Iceland. This worldwide reach shows the importance of localization features like built-in multi-language and multi-currency support - critical tools for global ecommerce.”

The release mentions how the success at the Internet Retailer Conference and Exhibition (and the contortionist show) helped Elastic Path gain traction in the ecommerce industry and spread the message of “Flexibility Matters” to online retailers worldwide. Indeed, we are seeing great results for our efforts and are pleased to demonstrate how innovation and hard work can help a smaller company “level the playing field” against the proverbial 800-pound gorillas of the industry.

For an upcoming Get Elastic podcast, I’ll sit down with Sales Director (or Sales Maniac as I like to say) Mark Williams to discuss how the EP sales process “works” and how (rare) honesty and (useful) thought leadership are paramount to success in wooing increasingly sophisticated customers. The obligatory CEO quote gives a glimpse into the EP future, saying:

“We are excited about our recent success as it shows retail adoption of our innovative platform. We are investing heavily in Research and Development surrounding our ecommerce software in order to keep up the momentum, and advance online retailing for our customers.”

The release also gives some insight into the valued relationships we build with Systems Integrators including Hamid Shayegan, IT Director from Exentric Thinking, a UK-based firm who are implementing Elastic Path for some interesting customers on their side of the pond. Finally the press release spreads the news of EP’s office expansion and hiring plans (shout out to Java programmers).

Part of PRWeb’s innovative {ahem} “Web 2point0″ strategy includes recording podcasts to discuss the press releases topic so, tomorrow morning I’ll do a phone-based podcast interview and be sure to ask what they thought the Jack Black’s work in the new (painfully long) version of King Kong (ho hum, just another 800-pound gorilla).
