It seems too complicated and very broad for me. I'm looking forward for your next post, I’ll try to get the hang of it!

You actually make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this topic to be really something which I think I would never understand. I think your point about integrating the Mobile version into your overall online strategy - especially with email links for people checking their mail on the move - is excellent.
We've been developing sites that automatically support PC, Plain-old mobile, high-end mobile and now iPhone devices for a few years now and our customers that develop a real multi-device multi-channel strategy get the best results by far.
Your point about dynamic versions/device-detection needing to be updated as new models are released can be significantly reduced if you turn the traditional model upside-down. See my post on "Not-Device" detection - http://smartmobtoolkit.wordpress.com/2008/10/16/not-device-detection/
Mobile's may not necessarily be a total replacement for the your e-commerce site...but they are becoming an important part of the overall process. This can include payment or payment confirmation, delivery tracking and notification and after sales support to name just a few points.

Hi Linda,

I think your point about integrating the Mobile version into your overall online strategy – especially with email links for people checking their mail on the move – is excellent.

We’ve been developing sites that automatically support PC, Plain-old mobile, high-end mobile and now iPhone devices for a few years now and our customers that develop a real multi-device multi-channel strategy get the best results by far.

Your point about dynamic versions/device-detection needing to be updated as new models are released can be significantly reduced if you turn the traditional model upside-down.
