i agree, i make iphone apps and the number one rule is kiss, keep it simple stupid.

Good note about not doing gimmicky features for the sake of doing it. lot of firms make that mistake. simplicity folks. give users what they want and just do those core things well.

I wonder if there is a way of linking your mobile number with online profile in a way that would enable once click purchases. What I mean buy that is you would find products on i phone and with one click purchase it by automating your online profile to the rest. something like a one click purchase where system would after command make purchase for you.

Also regarding payments most of the business are able to carry Paypal which what they should be pushing if you ask me. Reasons for that are: 1) keeps the actual building cost down. 2) paypal is already established brand with huge amount of accounts.

I believe that number one thing is to carefully pick-and-choose the platforms retailers are planning to support in order to see some ROI from the mobile commerce efforts.
