Have just stumbled upon your site and have found it really great, will becoming back soonest to see what other great posts are here, I don't really use my mobile that much for the net, but maybe this will help me understand it a lot better.

Thanks for the nice post, and looking forward to the rest of the series. I hope you cover SEO for mobile sites as well.

One point that you've missed is that you should have in-page navigational links (or access keys), so that the user can quickly move up and down within a page. This is of course not specific to the home page, and applies only for long pages.

On a technical note - you don't need to register (as in pay money to a registrar) any variant of yourdomain.com such as m.yourdomain.com - you already own it! Just ask the person in charge of dns to create a new subdomain, and point it to the right server.

Very good post Linda.

It reminded me how I was trying to make payment to my ISP at home when I consumed all the traffic within my limit. So I was unable to do that on my laptop and thus I had to stuff on my good old j2me-enabled Sony Ericsson. So I fired up Opera Mini and did the job. Trust me, after so many zoom-ins/zoom-outs I don't wonna do that ever again.

Right, it's not smartphone, but what you're actually talking about in this post is that UX is actually the same for non-optimized sites as I had it on my Opera Mini.

Looking forward to seeing part 2.
