Interesting as it was, I'm not sure I would have caught the mistake if they didn't send me the follow-up email with the subject in CAPS. I would have blamed my email server for delaying the emails and delivering them out of order!

I have always thought those emails were automated, but you would have to assume someone manually had to catch the mistake?

Interesting as it was, I’m not sure I would have caught the mistake if they didn’t send me the follow-up email with the subject in CAPS. I wonder how they caught the error?

Interesting, so do you think the email was manually deployed or automatically? I ordered a free "get-to-know-us" issue of Layers magazine, as I wanted to see what it was like being a graphic designer and all.
Well they just sent me a confirmation email say, "Now that you have had a chance to try out magazine, why not subscribe?"... before I even got the issue!
But then, they immediately sent another email that read in the subject, "WHAT WE MEANT TO SAY WAS..." It was a follow-up to make sure they got their message across and that they sent the wrong email! This one was their standard, "Thanks for trying out Layers" email, I only hope I don't receive the upsell email again later on!
I can imagine the sweat dripping off the person who sent the wrong email, he/she was probably turning red in their office even though I was miles away.
oops. :)

I know this page is off in history now, but I had to share a strange happening.

I ordered a free “get-to-know-us” issue of Layers magazine, as I wanted to see what it was like being a graphic designer and all.

Well they just sent me a confirmation email say, “Now that you have had a chance to try out magazine, why not subscribe?”… before I even got the issue!

But then, they immediately sent another email that read in the subject, “WHAT WE MEANT TO SAY WAS…” It was a follow-up to make sure they got their message across and that they sent the wrong email!
