It would be great to split test different ways to display this information - or even to have more than one link to the deadline page and see which gets most clicks. Centre stage mixed in with the products and offers - or at the top near the other 'non-product' links.

(continued)

It would be great to split test different ways to display this information – or even to have more than one link to the deadline page and see which gets most clicks. For me, shipping deadlines use a different part of my brain and therefore need to be explained in a different way - and possibly at a different stage in the buying process. And this changes with time.
For example early in the season it's not an issue - I just assume that my gifts will be delivered on time and I would get very cross if they weren't.
But with just 2 days to go it's top priority - the first thing I look for on a website. If it takes more than a few seconds to find out then I'm off to a different site.

Thanks for this well-researched article.

For me, shipping deadlines use a different part of my brain and therefore need to be explained in a different way – and possibly at a different stage in the buying process.
