I worked in the apparel industry for a number of years and you have nailed two major issues right on the head. The standard one item per detail page with standard cross-sells doesn&#039;t serve apparel retailers well. The ability to merchandise collections in an efficient manner remains one of the biggest challenges and there are no great out-of-box solutions available. (Great opportunity here!).
I have also blogged on the subject of video merchandising and see it as an under-utilized tactic. Apparel retailers spend a lot of money on photography with costs running from 10K to 20K per day for location photo shoots and the cost per photo running 1K to 3K per image.
