The standard one item per detail page with standard cross-sells doesn't serve apparel retailers well. The ability to merchandise collections in an efficient manner remains one of the biggest challenges and there are no great out-of-box solutions available. (Great opportunity here!). I have also blogged on the subject of video merchandising and see it as an under-utilized tactic. Apparel retailers spend a lot of money on photography with costs running from 10K to 20K per day for location photo shoots and the cost per photo running 1K to 3K per image. There is an opportunity to leverage the fixed costs of photography by adding video production to the process to get more bang for the buck. Linda,
