This is a great way to socialize a shopping site, particularly with the way they encourage social interaction on the site as well as the ability to push it to facebook. Wonder why they get such few comments? Any thoughts on how they can improve that?

Just tried out the tool. Would be nice to search by big head vs small head. Some of the images had a square outline around the image like they didn’t finish touching up the photo. I actually tried to click on the “Upload a picture” graphic icon to no avail. It would have been better if they had a “Try it out now” button or something on the homepage instead of only the bolded words linked..

This is a slick system and it comes as no surprise that its being used. I agree with your comments about tagging.

The important thing about user generated content such as this is that there needs to be administrator editing to keep the spammers out and the tagging and categorization proper. That way you get the maximum value added, both for search engine seo and for human searchers.

What a great tool!

You’re right in that there are lots of ways it could be made more useful. But it’s a great start. And the ability email links to friends and post to Facebook is very cool.

Shopping for glasses is HARD, especially on your own. So many choices, so difficult to decide. This seems a perfect application for such a tool.

I suspect this will be a big winner for EyeBuyDirect. I might even try it myself. Thanks for sharing.
