Our redesign and blog is about to go live next month, and these are some of the factors we've been considering. What we plan to do is use Twitter in our sidebar to provide very miniscule updates (based on the assumption using the Twitter logo is going to stand out more than just the webblog link in the navigation), thus encouraging our users to visit the main blog.
