If you’re new here, welcome! And thanks for subscribing to Get Elastic. Friday is Blogger Digest day where we highlight posts from other blogs that are of value and interest to online retailers and Internet marketers.
Bit of a shorter list this week to give you time to check out the fine entries in the SEMmy Finals. Yep, a Get Elastic post eked through to the PPC Category Semmy-finals (despite how it sounds, it’s actually the final-finals) so if you like it, please vote but do read the other posts too.

And if you’re headed to the Shop.org Strategy and Innovation Forum, definitely say hi to Jason Billingsley.
- Calling all retailers! Larry Josseloff of Shop.org is looking for panelists for a debate on affiliate marketing – particularly those who believe affiliate marketing has its place but must be heavily policed, or those who have ended their affiliate program and believe affiliate marketing sucks margin, prevents proper channel attribution or simply doesn’t perform well. Details here.
- If you advertise with Google Adwords, make sure you read George Michie’s explanation of how Google Broad Match has taken a turn for the worse and his follow up suggestions how Google should correct the issue. I imagine this will get sorted out, but in the meantime, you must understand how this affects your ad campaigns.
- This is an interesting post on search behavior from Rand Fishkin at SEOmoz: Struggling Against Google’s Greatest Advantage. While this is not ecommerce related, it’s an interesting look into human psychology applied to search result relevance. The influence of a strong and trusted brand however, does apply to ecommerce. Very much.
- Rebecca Kelley from SEOmoz wrote (and illustrated) a hilarious post based off a real guest post submission from a guy who thinks he can teach you how to make a lot of money on eBay. Please check it out. You’ll laugh out loud.
